Winterizing in Florida


I don't have a coop page for my big, Open Air coop yet since I wanted to use it for a year before writing it up, but you can see it in the Hot Climate article.

This coop, though only medium-security, is all I need in central NC during warm weather and would need only another tarp on part of one wall to make it viable for winter use.

Don't use chicken wire for valuable birds, of course. I needed a cheap grow-out facility for cull cockerels. But if I'd used hardware cloth and added an anti-dig apron it would be perfectly fine for any birds except baby chicks in this climate.
