Winterizing my Michigan coop

Hi, when should I winterize my coop and run. Is now too soon to wrap the run with plastic 2/3rd of the way up? Overnight temps are going to be in the high 20's. Daytime temps still in the 50's. This is my first winter with chickens. I've read alot of great information, but wonder if there is a specific temperature range when I need to make sure they are protected. Thank you.

It can depend on your set up. It might be best to start your own thread with pictures of your set up and how many birds are kept in it. We already put up our panels on our bantam run, but it's well ventilated, and birds still can go outside of it.

Yes, please start a new thread. This thread is from 4 years ago, so it won't get read much.

Please include pictures of your coop, your run, and also your location so we can get a general idea of your climate.
With ^^^that^^^ said, I don't know why I look at the cold weather threads. Morbid curiosity? I'd die before the chickens would.

Depending on your set-up.... you don't have to do anything.

My 2 coops last winter.
