Wire cloth fencing user questions?

I got my hands on 500 feet of 1/2 x 1/2 x 72 inch wire cloth. I searched the site looking for one answer in particular with no luck.
As this stuff does not flex too well on a horizontal plane, whats the best way to install it on a sloping area with some ups and downs? The only thing I could come up with was to build my large run in short straight level sections and cut it as needed to make the bends and then use j clips to fasten things back together?
Anyone out there have extensive experience that could give me some pointers?

I dug a trench to make my area as level as possible and then cut the bottom areas to fit over roots and other high spots. I sandwiched two boards together and used my truck to pull it tight.

Yea, I kinda thought splicing at the post joint would be best. I've only got about 450 actual feet I want to fence, so cutting it ofetne and loosing some should not be a problem.
