Wire size for coop floor under roosts???

1" x 2" is what I have under my BOs roosting bars. Coop is a 30" above the ground.

Chickens walk on it fine without "breaking a leg". And I have not had any predators get thru it. (Jinx that now didn't I?)

Thank you for the review on the 1x2 wire.

That is what I will use. I use that for the walls and ceiling on my rabbit cages. The floors get 1x1/2

Inquiring minds want to know....does the poop fall thru?
That looks like the 'fresh built' pic.

Picture is of a coop that mine was patterned from. Mine has a fiberglass floor instead of the wood one shown in the picture.

Does the poop fall thru? Most of it does. I just reach in with a hoe to knock the big stuff thru.

Please note. My original post was in error. Wire is actually 1" x 1"

Alright. Then I will have to buy a new roll of wire. I will live LOL.

I had planned on keeping a stiff bristle push broom hanging in the coop to push clingers through.

I had also planned on doing the entire inside of the coop with spray on truck bed liner over the wood. I don't like exposed wood anywhere someone could pee on it. Plus, with the truck bed liner it makes cleaning a heck of a lot easier. It is a bit of an expense up front, but I believe in doing something one time if I can. I don't like redoing stuff many times.
