Hi again,
Thanks to all for your previous responses about my run fencing. Another question I had is about the hen house floor. It is a raised house and I'm going to use a wire floor. Any advice on what size the wire should be? I've seen both 1/2 by 1 and 1 by 1 welded wire used. (There is an attached large run and I live in the SF bay area so the winters are not severe so they will be out a lot!)
Thanks,
Matthew

It will also give raccoon hands a much better place to reach through. Either way, wire floor will make it much easier for bumblefoot or other foot problems to develop.

If the coop is going to be raised then most likely the bottom under the coop will be enclosed for the birds. I have 2x4 inch wire under my roosts but I have hardware cloth ½"x½" around the bottom of my coop. My birds are only in their coop to roost and lay eggs.
