can i wire a fan directly into a ceramic light fixture? the fan is not a PC type, but a regular old plug in fan i am pretty sure that i can.

thanks

the fan i have has long ago lost its plug. instead of buying a new one, i would like to hard wire it into the light fixture.

don't see why not then.... my only hesitation would be if it's really old....old fans have been known to start horse barns on fire if they short out.

the fan is not that old. it came out of a bathroom remodel. now i need to figure out if i want it to suck or blow in the incubator.

oy, sorry, I was picturing you wanting to wire a big old box fan into your coop.....silly me not realizing I am on an incubating thread....yeesh sorry....

Yea no reason you can't have that hard wired in LOL.

I just hatched some chicks in a home made cooler bator. I had my fan blowing across the light bulbs sideways and not blowing at the eggs....but I think there is more than one way to do it and still have it work.
