wisconsin swaps???

My sons are just getting started in Poultry showing through 4-H. We have never been to any of the swaps or shows listed here.

We have been advised to go to the Wisconsin International Poultry Show in Portage Sept 25-27 2009

http://www.wisconsinpoultry.org/

We emailed the show secretary

From: JoAnn
Subject: Poultry Show visiting

We have a 11 year old and 14 year old 4-Hers just starting in the
poultry project and are wondering if it is possible to visit the Portage show to get a look at the various breeds, possibly make contacts with breeders of varieties we may be interested in (Ameraucana, Delaware, Red or Silver Grey Dorking, Speckled Sussex, Welsummer, Barnevelder, Jaerhorn {not APA but they look like fun})

Is this possible? Is there a best time and date to attend?

and got this:

Yes - visitors are always welcome. You'll want to come on Saturday between 10 and 2 to check the sale area, get an exhibitors list and network.

Also:

The U of WI has a poultry events page

I do not know why there are rabbit shows in this listing, maybe rabbit shows are also poultry swaps or the Uni Depart also handles Rabbits?
