Up until now (24 weeks of age next week) all three hens seemed to share and share alike. This morning, I set out a bowl of treats (bird seed, corn and oyster shell) and bent-toe Pojo, one of the two bigger pullets, pecked poor little Alice (runt of the litter) away. She attempted to return, slowly moving toward the treats, but was run off by Pojo a second time. Pocky, the squawkee, just stood a few feet away and watched. Then Pojo and Pocky waddled away from the area. I felt bad for my little runt chicken....
she is the nicest, friendliest of the bunch...but you can't fight their nature.
