I have a 7 week old Russian orloff chick who recently started becoming a little wobbly on her feet. She hasn’t gotten any worse and it’s not a very noticeable wobbly, but she has trouble standing in one leg or being balanced while perching. She is eating and drinking and behaving normally otherwise. Her face is a little crusty as well, any ideas on what this could be?

Can you look her over really well to figure out what the crustiness is? Feed, dirt, lice/mites/fleas, scabs/injury, mucous, etc.?

What are you feeding including treats?
Is she eating well and going to roost with a full crop?
No bullying or being kept from food?
Was she vaccinated for Marek's?

I'd check out her legs, feet and joints for any injury, swelling, etc.
You can give her 1/4 tablet B-Complex and 400IU Vitamin E daily to see if that helps with her leg and balance issues.

I tried looking at the crustiness, it just seems like hard feathers that got some sort of food or liquid on them. I believe she’s vaccinated for Marek’s as we got her from Wilco and they said they vaccinate all their chicks. She is eating Purina medicated starter grower feed with the occasional meal worms or fruit/veggie treat. No bullying as she is kept from the bigger chickens right now with her friend who is the same age. She is eating and drinking normally and doesn’t act any difference besides a tiny bit of wobbliness. We are giving her vitamins once a day, fingers crossed it is helping. It’s only been a day since we started vitamins so it’s hard to tell.
