I have had two girls for about a month or so now. They went in their coop at night on their own for about the first week. Then they discovered the chainlink fence behind my garden and that is where they want to go all the time now. Every night they hoo up there and at 10PM when I check on horses I have to lick them up and put them up. Tonight they were covered in mosquitos. I sprayed down the coop in case there were bugs. It’s has windows in front and one on each side I can close. I do let them out in the AM and feed them (they also have food all night). How do I get these girls back into seeping in their coop at night? P.S. these spoiled ladies have a new coop coming but won’t be finished until Nov.

Do they have mites, lice, or soft ticks? Any of those can discourage hens from roosting in the coop. Also, is mice or anything like that getting into the coop?

On another hand, they might find the outside perch higher, so they like it better. I'd check for everything else first, but if they're free of everything, that might be it.

What kind of 'bugs' and what/how did you spray?

How do they get into the coop?
More pics(inside and out) would help here.
I salesy peretherim spray for anything that may have been living in the coop. I bought new, but you never know. Bottom opens (as does top). They just hop up on the backside to the roost bar.
