Won't go to roost

Ever since I have put my chicks in the tractor I built they will only roost on the ground. It has been a couple of months since I have put them in there. Anyone got any suggestions on how to make them roost in the coop and not the run? Short of locking them in the coop for a couple of weeks it's to hot for that.

What kind of chickens are they? How old? If they are Cornish Cross (meat chickens) they likely won't roost - they aren't agile enough to get up on a roost. Is the roost low enough or are they old enough to be able to fly up to it?

2 r production reds 1 jersey black 2 Cochins and a little black rooster the guy I got them from gave my little girl. They r around 5 months old. They all can fly good and they will go in the coop and get up on the roost. They just won't do it at night.
