Wood duck eggs hatching this morning and mom is gone.

Momma wood duck left her nest last night and has not returned. Her eggs started hatching this morning and she is no where to be found. They are in a wood duck box and I’m worried she isn’t coming back.

Wildlife rehabbers are legally able to take wood ducks. They are very difficult to raise even for experienced backyard duck keepers (I dont know why: perhaps diet)

I would get the list of local wildlife rehabbers -- the list might identify those that take waterfowl. In Florida, Fish and Wildlife Commission have the lists of rehabbers by county. It's perhaps the same I'm other states
