I have a small mixed flock of chickens with varying breeds (mostly easter eggers, some Brahma bantams, duccles, faveroles, etc...) in two 9x5 coops with a very large covered run. They often get run of the yard and wooded areas of our propery (6 acres)
I've been wanting to get wood ducks for some time. Before I make that kind of investment, would it be possible to house them with the changes chickens? How are their water (swimming) requirements? There is a creek on tge property, but can run drt during the hot months. I'm considering a bottom draining pool for them.
I had black east india ducks for a bit, and they made their water unbearable in minutes. Do wood ducks do the same?
