I have 3 Pekins and 3 Cayuga's they are in a nice size pen during the day and I finished the first of their 2 coops about 2weeks ago. The first day I picked them up and placed them inside. The next day I made a 6ft ramp (the 1st coop is about 2 ft off the ground) so the slope isn't too much.
So for the last 2 weeks either me or my mother (on the nights I was working out of town) would herd them up the ramp.
I had decided I'd bring my cattle dog out this weekend to intro him so I could Use him to put them up at night. But I headed out tonight at 8 to put them in (thinking they just didn't like to go up the steep ramp (so the second coop that I started is only about 1 1/2 ft tall)):/ and what do I find 4 of them already in the coos and the last two waddling up the ramp!! On their own!!! And turn to the chickens in th hoop house to find the little silkie chicken figured out how to get to the high roost! Surprises all around!! And yes I'll post coop stuff as soon as my regular Internet is back to normal (I'm on my cell right now so excuse the typo I'm sure I've missed!)
