I have 30 chickens that I’d like to worm for internal parasites. I’ve done the ivermectin pour on in the past but I was wondering if there was an easier solution. Maybe something you can just throw in their water and call it a day? If not what do you recommend that works not only well but efficiently too. Thanks!

I’m currently treating them with Corrid for Coccidiosis as well but I know that is the only thing that treats.

Some people ask their vet to do a fecal float on some collected droppings to see if there is a need to worm. My vet would do it for me, but you might want to do this if you are already taking in a dog or cat for shots or a checkup.

I have always wormed my chickens individually by drawing up the dose in a syringe, and putting it into their beaks to swallow 1/2 ml at a time. The better wormers that treat most chicken worms are Valbazen cattle wormer and SafeGuard liquid goat wormer or horse paste. Valbazen, my favorite, dosage is 1/2 ml orally for a 4-6 pound chicken given once and in 10 days. Dosage of Safeguard/fenbendazole is 1/4 ml per pound given for 5 straight days. If only treating roundworms you can give it once and in 10 days.

If you cannot do those you might want to check into this one which is put into water and has a combination of wormers in one:

You're looking for an easier way to worm your birds.
It's always best to worm each bird orally, one bird at a time. That way you know they all got properly wormed. I use Valbazen.
Adding wormers in water is guesswork. You dont know if they drink it or drink enough of it to be effective. Birds drink less in cool/cold temps.
