Worming Advice..

I did a lot of searching on site and asked for some advice previously and these are the questions I'm still unsure of for the age of my chicks.

Situation is 5 chicks (orpington and silkies) who are shaking heads and gaping. I got videos of them shaking their heads but they never gaped while I was filming--they did when I didn't have the camera on them though...frustrating!

You can see in this video, the rooster shaking his head and one silkie really doing it over and over in the bottom left.

So I want to treat for gapeworm... I gave them Wazine a week ago and they are still the same. Searches on BYC gave me tons of information on worming, but much of it was contradictory (doses and types of ivermectin to use especially)..

1. To dose five 11 week old chicks, which Ivermectin should I use? 1% 1.87%? What form-paste or injectible? I want to order the right thing and don't want to overmedicate my babies.

2. Should it be spot on, in their water, or squirted down their throats?

3. Must you repeat the dosage and when.

4. Is there another wormer that treats gape worm that is meant for chickens and thus has directions for chicks?

Thanks! I want to try to order whatever I need tonight and get them treated right away. There are no other symptoms, but if anyone has any other ideas, let me know!

I am sorry I have no clue, but maybe someone can answer you, if this goes back to the top! Good luck.

I'm afraid to give meds to the chicks, someone please let me know if it's ok at 11 weeks to worm them with ivermectin...read first post for questions..

Also, I read garlic might help, anyone think it'll help for gapeworm which is not in their digestive system?
