I've been doing some reading but can't seem to find a solid answer-

I have two peachicks that will be going to a good home soon. They're about 2 months old. I've been feeding them medicated chick feed with their high protein feed so far.

Can someone tell me in absolute terms how to worm them with either ivermectin, safeguard, etc- and explain the process to me like I'm a total dummy?

I'd love to do it by mixing it in the water so their parents get wormed as well, but understand if this isn't a first option. Chicks have been raised outside with mom since day 1.

Thank you!!!

Ivermectin is best used for external parasites. I would worm with the Safeguard. You can't put it in their water but you can easily put it in some food.

Weigh your birds and add up their total weight. Make up a wet mash with their chick feed and some water. Dispense the correct amount of wormer into the wet mash. For the 10% Safeguard, the dosage is 0.5ml per kg of bodyweight. If you have a different % you will need to calculate the difference.

Make up enough wet mash so that everyone gets their fair share but that they finish it in a short time. Remove all other food until they finish it.

Alternatively, for a small amount of birds you could dose them individually. Measure each bird's wormer based on their individual weight separately onto a small treat and make sure each individual eats the appropriate treat.

Worm for 5 days in a row, then take a 10 day break, then do another 5 days of worming.

Exactly, this.
