Ok I have read so many conflicting posts about using safegaurd goat dewormer my brain hurts. I have the liquid 10ml bottle to use for it. I want to know if it is safe and what the dosage amount to give each chicken. I have read many times mixing it in the water isn't sufficient as well as it doesn't mix well and settles at the bottom needing stirred. I am gone 10 hrs a day at least for work I can't do the mixing all day. So i need to know do i dilute it? How much to do so to. How much in a dose per chicken?

Correct dose is .23ml per pound of bird weight, given directly, orally, with an oral syringe (no needle). Straight as it is, no dilution (shake the bottle well before drawing it up). Yes, it is safe. For roundworms you dose twice, 10 days apart. For gapeworm or capillary worm you would dose 5 days in a row. I lock them in the coop at dark, go out before first light and take them off the roost one at a time and dose each bird. I put them in the run after dosing, when the coop is empty I know I've done everyone. Give the correct dose .5ml at a time into the front of the beak and let them swallow it, repeat until the entire dose is given, that will reduce the risk of aspirating any medication.

SAFEGUARD Dosage is 1 cc for giants(about 8 lbs) , 3/4 cc for large fowl, 1/2 cc for standard (about 6 lbs), 1/4 cc for bantams and small. Repeat in 10 days.

Facing the chicken, lift it's head a little, put the filled dosage syringe (no needle) to the left side. Gently squirt some out. DON'T get any in the center hole, it's for breathing. Let the chicken swallow, then repeat until it has taken the whole dose.

Expect to be nervous when doing the first couple birds. Don't expect the bird's full cooperation, either. By the time you do a few, you will be more comfortable with it. By the time you have to re-treat, after the first bird, you will be a pro at it.
