Worming with Wazine

I have a sickly hen- puffy, lethargic, poopy butt; plus another one, maybe two, with slightly poopy butts but acting fine. Last fall I saw what I assume were roundworms in a dropping(from a hen who was also puffy and lethargic but who died soon after) but a fecal exam at the vet showed nothing. I know what I saw, they were wiggling! I did a course of Pyrantel(from the vet) and threw out lots of eggs

My vet, although he has a backyard flock, told me he doesn't know much about chickens, he's really a cat and dog guy. So... I am figuring that the Wazine won't hurt anything, and may help. From reading many other threads, it seems I should follow up with another wormer afterwards; I know I can get Safeguard, not sure what else is available locally. Oh, btw, the sick hen seems like she is slowly improving- I have been hunting earthworms for her which she seems eager to eat.
So, anyway... I will give the Wazine, both in the waterer in their coop, and in the one I keep in the yard. I will probably pull the waterer from the coop the night before, as I read on one thread, so they will take a good drink in the morning. Then I will sadly throw out eggs for two weeks. Here's where I am a little confused: should I repeat the Wazine, or use the Safeguard(or whatever?) If I should use the other wormer, should I wait longer than two weeks before I give it to them? And is Safeguard a good choice as a general wormer? Really, I tried to figure this stuff out by reading older threads but now my head is spinning!

I don't remember; I bought the Wazine but not the Safeguard. They have a dirt run and are allowed to range every day, so I figure they probably have more roundworms, since it seems like that's what I saw last fall, and the eggs last so long in the soil.

Ok. You can use the wazine no problem. I'm not a big fan of wazine because it only gets rid of large roundworms and no other type of worms. I used to use it, but not anymore. Also, you dont know if a chicken drank any of it or drank enough of it to be effective. The next time you go to the feed store, pick up either the safeguard liquid goat wormer (preferably) or the safeguard equine paste. You'll want to reworm your birds in 10 days after the 24 hours is up after using the wazine.

Ah, I saw some of your old posts recommending the wazine. I guess if I go to a regular worming schedule I might not want to bother with it either. I'm just afraid if they have more than just roundworms it might be too much for them. So, I would use the safeguard 11days after? and is that also a two week withdrawal for using the eggs again?
