Hello all!

Yesterday, I discovered worms by my chicken coop. I noticed a moist spot, which is unusual since I live in a desert, and I dug in it and found hundreds of tiny worms. I poured bleach on it this morning. Any suggestions on how to deal with worms? Thanks!

Ummm, let your chickens eat them? Not now that they have bleach on them, but my chickens dig up worms all the time.

Feed the worms to your chickens minus the bleach.

What color are they? Are they worms or maggots? Moist patch in the desert? Like surface moisture or deeper? I ask because could something have been strolling by your coop carrying something very dead and set it down for a minute or three to evaluate whether your chickens were worth the effort to get at? If so, the something either decided the chickens weren't worth the effort and took its very dead meal with it, or made a note for future nibbling possibilities.

Interesting.

Oh no! You have got a case of Desert Worms (DW).

You cant live with DW
You cant live without DW
You cant shoot DW

I once new a man that tried to get rid of DW. He failed. Now DW will not let him leave the house. His DW got so bad that tried to run away, but DW caught up to him the next day, and made him go back home. He was already in the next state.
There is no hope for you now. DW will rule your life.

SHOOT - A lot of us PAY for worms to feed to our chickens.

If you didn't kill all of them, take a picture so we can help identify.

Chickens LOVE worms. I pay $2.99 for 50 small meal worms at Petsmart and collect all the earth worms I find to feed to my babies.
