I have 5 pullets that get very happy when I let them out to free range. I live in a small city lot and they can only free range for about an hour while I supervise. As soon as I let them out they start running and flapping their wings. They usually only fly about 3 feet high. But the other day, an ameracuana flew up to the top of the coop which is about 7'. (This is the roof line of the playhouse coop) She also flew from the top of a 2 tier deck to the middle of the yard.

My fence is 6' tall and has flower beds and trees next to it. I am afraid that one day they may fly into my neighbors yard where there are dogs.

Will they fly over my 6' fence?

Do I need to clip their feathers? (I mean wings)

They are 2 ameracaunas, 1 rhode island red, and 2 wyandottes.

Now, I constantly worry that they will fly over! Please help!

Thanks
Mary
