would a roo be OK without a flock?

so I might have found someone who will take my rooster

She says she doesnt have any other chickens though and I started to worry that he might not be OK without a flock to be around. I've never kept a chicken alone so I wouldn't know.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Maybe. If he's docile enough to be a pet. It would be pretty sad to just put him in an isolated pen forever.

I had two mean roosters who were relocated to my dad's farm, where they are chumming around together until I get around to butchering them. They seem to be ok. There are no hens there for them to fight about. They are currently leaving people alone as well. But they will have to go as my mom's veggie garden is not fenced.

Point being maybe they should accept another re-homed rooster and let them chum around after their unavoidable initial fight.
