Would a rubbermaid container work as a tractor?

Hmmm you got a 2 1/2 by about 4 floor plan... that is 10 square feet. I know that Standards need about 4sq ft each, for three is 12sq ft. But you have Bantams, which are a lot smaller, so 10 square feet sounds right to me. I think that dog house is a good size for you.

Starting with that dog house and putting roosts, boxes, vents, etc looks like a good idea to me. It will minimize your time and tool needs but still save a ton of money over buying a totally premade chicken environment.

Have fun!

i used a tote in my tractor, i need to drill holes in it like my one i had set up in the regular coop. i had the tote secured to the tractor with wire so the girls couldn't knock it over.

it works well, I'm not sure how well it wil work in the summer though, I might have to try to build something that will work well in the heat.

actually now that i think about it, i am going to build something different, a box that can be connected to the tractor itself, so when i move it the nest goes with it. Its a pain in the next to have to get the waterer & the feeder AND the tote out of the tractor, then move it, then put everything back.
