would i have to tame my chicks myself?

i don't care if i do i just remember when i was a kid my silkies were so sweet and nice so i was wondering if i have to tame my chickens i understand like making not sfraid to my hand but what other stuff do i have to do

no matter what you do..when they are chick they will still be jumpy..but i have learned not to make sudden move's on dont just reach in and grab....give them time to come to you...but as they get a little older they will understand more and that you are not going to hurt them....

your welcome we have some sex-link pullets and they are so friendly ! i guess it's from where i would make about 50 trip's to the coop everyday to see what they were doing lol ! and i would go in there and sat for about 20 -30 mins and they would come up to me and one even jumps up on my legs ! oh lesson learned (don't wear short's) they will scratch your legs all up lol !
