We've been using a hoop house for our 10 chickens and it has worked out very nicely. However, we are getting ready to move and had been thinking about redoing their coop so they have more shelter for the coming winter. (Oh, cooler weather seems so, so, far away!) I found these pictures online somewhere, don't know where, and we were thinking about doing this for our chickens. It seems pretty spacious, and has something they can go into when the weather gets cold, etc. We would like to stay away from doing a traditional coop because this is pretty much the only way they could free range. We have two labs, and they just do not mix with birds of any sort. We have 10 chickens total, do you think this is a good size? Would this be good enough for them through winter? If you don't think this would work do you have a link to a better plan? Thanks for all your help!

Looks to be to small for ten chickens & those latches for sure won't work.I like coops you can walk into. Here's a coop that I have that has 10 chickens in it.

I hadn't even noticed the latches, but your right about them not working well! I was thinking it looked a bit small as well. I'm thinking we could probably make the whole thing a little larger to make it more accommodating for them.
