Would you sell your chickens/ducks to someone who...

Just tell her (your friend) that when she has a pen ready for the ducks, to call you and you will bring them over and help her settle them in. It puts the ball back in her court and you get to see ahead of time if she will be able to put in the effort for duck ownership.

Going to add myself to this as a veteran of 8 years with poultry, rabbits, ducks and I say no don't do it because you have this gut feeling you shouldn't.

I have had many experience's with this thru out the years and it appears to me this Mom is only thinking of these as cute toys for her kids.
Biggest Red Flag is the age of the kids no way can these young ones Know or even comprehend how to hold or handle the ducks.
Other Red Flag a Mom who knows nothing about ducks and probably doesn't want to put in the time and care the ducks needs.
I would tell this Mom the worst case scenario of how messy and unfriendly a duck can be and all the responsibilities that come with having them and I just bet she will decide they aren't for her.

In the past 8 years I have had so many people give me unwanted animals I finally stopped excepting them Rabbits, Easter Chicks & Ducks, Guinea pigs, Chickens, full grown ducks and geese.
All were bought and given to Children as Pets soon as the cute wears off or they are just too messy or just the kids lose interest it's time for them to go.
I had a Huge Pekin Drake given to me last year by someone who had kept him in a pigeon loft with pigeons his entire life of 8 months.
He was on the verge of becoming worm food when I agreed to take him and he had no idea how to eat out of a bowl and didn't like pellets as he had never eaten them and he was terrified of water and almost drowned on his first swim.
I rehomed him he now lives with 15 Rhode Island Red hens and he is still terrified of water but his new owner just loves him "Chester" is her big sweet baby
