Thanks so much...BUT, I'm so new to the idea of chickens I don't know the lingo. What is meant by pullets, roos, and sex-link breed? I have been reading much info thru internet & this is why I need to talk with live people.

Why not spend some time reading in the BYC Learning Center ? I think you'll get a lot of your most basic questions answered there.

Pullets are either (depending on who you are) a female chicken that hasn't layed her first egg, or a female chicken under a year old. Roo = Rooster, and sex-link is a type of chicken that you can tell the sex when they hatch, based on their color. They are good egglayers. Most hatcheries have their own "brand".

Pullets will eventually be hens and lay eggs.
Roo is short for rooster.
Sex-link means the hen is a different color from the roo, so it's easier to make sure you only end up with eggs

Pullets-young hens
Roos- Rooster
Sex linked- You can tell Pullets from roos by the color.
