Wrecked train and bare patch on throat.

Quick question; the ringneck pheasant rooster that was in my flight pen didn't like my new pea-cock and picked on him to the point that he earned a spot as the highlight of Sunday dinner. He's pecked a bare spot on my pea's throat and wrecked his train; how long will it take to regrow the train & throat feathers?

It seems likely that your boy won't grow a new train until the next breeding season, next year. They seem to only be programmed to grow one of those a year? From my understanding, once any other feather follicle is empty, it will start growing a feather. So I'm guessing it won't take too long for your boy's throat to fill in again. But (disclaimer!), my practical knowledge about this is limited to my experience with wing feathers.

By the way, welcome back! Haven't seen you around here lately!

The feathers are always pushing again ... if is some feathers this is not a problem.

But this bird on the pic, this peacock will have a big problem during the following season .The feathers will fall in winter and in April / May it will not be the most beautiful bird of .... " the backyard" !! ... will he be fertile !
This bird has not only one problem .... watch his beak!
