My Runner drake recently began fighting my Cayuga drake for breeding rights. I removed him, and I'm temporarily keeping him in a stall with a Pekin hen. My neighbor across the street wants the pair, and is working on getting a set-up prepared for them. Now that he's been separated from my breeders, how long will it take for me to be certain the eggs are fertilized by my Cayuga drake and not the Runner? Not sure how long the 'seeds of life' remain active, and I want to be sure that my Cayuga girls are laying pure Cayuga eggs.
