Wrong Niacin

OK, so before my ducks hatched I picked up a bottle of a niacin supplement made of inositol nicotinate. Well, I just realized I got the 'wrong'? supplement? Because inositol nicotinate is just a different name for inositol hexaniacinate! I'd read here that the inositol hexaniacinate is a no no for ducklings. By why? I thought I was on the right track because I was looking for the key word: nicotinate. The other kind they had obviously said it as slow release inositol hexaniacinate, so I got the other stuff.

Looks like I should go pick up some brewers yeast, I should have kept it simple and done that in the first place.

When you buy niacin, you don't want anything that says "slow release" or "non-flush"

Why not just buy game bird grower pellets? It already contains everything a duck needs including niacin. Agway carries it.

If the ducks are still very young, use game bird starter crumbles. It also has everything a duck needs.
