I SO want to hatch an emu chick. Just one. Just one cute little emu chick that I can name Daisy (regardless of sex, it will be Daisy). No eggs this time of year is there? Anyone?

it is too late for hatching eggs for this season... sorry

Most emus will begin laying again around December or so.. just depends on the individual emu.. I know of a few that started in November.. and some that didn't start til January

That's in Texas, right? So probably no one in the north will have them that early with the cold. I have to read more ... but I really want to hatch one. :) I am reading so much ... some say it's really hard to hatch, others say it's totally easy ... opinions? And I believe I should find local eggs (or as close to local as possible) and pick them up as opposed to shipping eggs ... do they fare worse than chicken or pheasant when shipped? Same risk? Higher risk? All advice and opinions appreciated!!!!
