Hi, I posted recently about having a duckling with wry neck, she has had this issue sense possible day 3 after receiving her and she is now approximately 8 weeks old now, we have taken her to the vet twice first vet said it was a deficiency and gave us selenium and told us vitamins daily that was at 3 days of age, second time was last Friday, the vet told us she thinks it could possible be a ear infection and gave us a steroid along with amoxicillin to give her every twelve hours for 10 days we are coming up on day 7 or 8 and have seen no improvement. I was wondering how long can wry neck last, what is the longest a duck has had this problem and if this passed fixing and should we have her put down. Her head is a completely upside down and she cannot eat it drink without help nor can she really stand without falling over at this point. We have tried everything and we just want to know if it is to late or not...

I agree with @casportpony I have never had a single pheasant recover from wry neck...no matter what treatment I used...I haven't had a duck with wry neck, so can't tell you if it will recover or not....the pheasants that had wry neck, I didn't cull...just couldn't do it. They lived for 8 years and I have 1 now that has been alive for 11 years, although it doesn't have a severe case of wry neck.

Unfortunately we have been treating her with both Vitamin E and Something called a Vitamin B complex but do not see a vitamin B1 on the bottle.
Not all vitamin b complex products have thiamine, but the one for cattle does.

Call your vet and ask them what they think about trying this.
