Yesterday I noticed one of our 3 month old silkies was contorted. It was stumbling around and making some pathetic peeping sounds. First glance I thought broken neck? Seizure??
We were in the middle of a project and I got it out of the pen and into a box in the garage until I could get to a stopping point and check on the little guy.
A few minutes later, I returned to the garage and it's just fine as can be! It jumped out of the box and was giving me a run for my money.
The descriptions I read of wry neck is exactly what it looked like, except it being gone within 5-10 minutes.
Could it come and go like that? Could it had been just knocked silly? Any ideas?

Wry neck (torticollis, crook neck) is a neurological symptom. You are fortunate that it didn't last long, so may may have hurt her head. Just watch her in case it comes back. If it does, then treat her with vitamin E and selenium, along with some vitamin B1 (thiamine,) which are all included in Poultry Nutri-Drench or Poultry Cell tonics. Regular poultry vitamins added to the water and Polyvisol can be used, but selenium (found in egg, tuna, salmon, sunflower seeds, or nuts should be added.) The recommendation is for 25 mcg daily for selenium.
