I just figured out through reading on here that my 10 month old silkie has wry neck. I think she's had it for several days now but it getting worse. I took her in today and put her in a dog crate. She won't/can't eat or drink. I tried to get some water in her with a dropper, but I can't get her beak open.
I'll be going to store first thing tomorrow for vitamins and Vit E caps, but can someone please tell me how much poly vi sol and Vit E to give her? Also, how do I get it in her, i couldn't get her beak open for water so I'm not sure how to get the meds in. She lays on her side a lot, and her head is getting droopier. Of course she's my favorite hen and this is heartbreaking!
TIA for any advice!

She's worse today. tried to feed her scrambled eggs, and tried to drop water in her, but she just lays there with her beak shut and the water rolls off. Is it too late to get vitamins in her??

Because she is a silkie I suspect she bumped her heador someone pecked her head. If thisis the case, you could give her anti-inflammatories such as aspirin. 25 mg per pound. Pop the tablet in her mouth in dissolve in water. Also incase its a deficiency Vit E or Vit B1 (thiamin) could help. Sorry I'm not sure of the dosage.
