We suffered a catastrophic loss here to a stray dog and I'd like to rebuild our flock. Our LGD is getting on in years and I've taken to letting him sleep in at night. The stray took full advantage of this and dug and clawed his way into our coop where he killed 15 of our 20 chickens. Needless to say, the coop has been repaired and reinforced and a year-old Great Pyr is now on patrol, so the new birds will be safe. We're not picky about breed (mixes just fine), size, coloring, or even gender (so long as the roosters aren't people-aggressive). I'm in the southern-middle TN area, but I don't mind a drive.
