I am looking for some eggs from Splash Copper Marans. Can also be just Splash, but would prefer them showing copper. Pics of the adults is a must, as I need assurance of CLEAN combs (NO sprigs or carnations!), and need HEAVY shank/toe feathering. The bigger and chunkier the type, the better too! Anywhere from 8-10 eggs should be good, the closer to Missouri the better. Please e-mail or PM me if you have anything, and thanks!

we have some blue splash. I can post pics when I get the new ones uploaded. not all ours has feathered shanks but they are very pretty and the F1's are definitely darker than their parents. they are laying VERY well and I currently have a dozen eggs ready to ship or set for myself. you can see some of our splash on my BYC.

Thanks, your birds are lovely. My two main problems here right now are combs and light or no shank feathering. I really need the heavy feathering to be consistent in the chicks, especially the roos.

Hi,
I have a small flock of three Splash Marans (among the other random hens). I am currently offering eggs as a test-hatch for 6 eggs for $12 plus shipping. I shipped to MA two weeks ago and all eggs made it no problem. Still have a week to go on her batch, a local batch, and another mid-state CA batch. I have an order for fill on Monday, then would collect eggs next week for you, shipping probably Tuesday after Labor Day. My roo is starting to show a bit of the coppering on his hackles now at 8 months. The hens have been laying for two months. They all have nice feathering, and you can see their combs and legs in the photos below. See photos and you can PM me if you are interested.

Hi,
I got my eggs, which my Cochin hatched from Helen Byers, Blue Water Ranch. My roo, Lil' Joe, has pinkish legs, as does the fairer of the two hens, Eva. Zsa Zsa, the one that looks a bit more blue in the pictures, has darker legs, but not dark. None of the ones that I culled did either, as I recall. I culled for leg feathering this time. I understand this is an issue with the Splash Marans, but mine don't have the other faults like combs with sprigs! Nice shape and feathering, but not awesome leg color. Sigh. It's always something!

I am doing some local test hatches to see how the fertility is going...
