When I got my chicks this February, the hatchery did not have any Turkens available for several weeks so I just made my order without them thinking I would be fine with what I got. My last flock had turkens in it and now I would like to add a turken pullet to this flock.
I live in N. Florida and can come get her if its not to far (my wife will kill me if I drive to far away for one chicken lol).
Thanks

Have you thought about hatching a few? I'm sure you could get eggs a lot easier than chicks or started pullets.

The purchase of an incubator would be quickly followed by a divorce - lol. I just had hopes of finding someone nearby to fulfill my want. The fact that I can't find anyone is probably a sign from the universe that I should wait until my next hatchery order next year.
[sigh]

you don't *need* an *incubator* per say. but.. how bout a broody hen? then you could get a few eggs, stick them under her.. and *poof* chicks... without an incubator.. and no divorce:) i got eggs from jmhappycowboy, they are hatching right now:) YaY! wonderfully packaged but the PO played hell with my box:( so.. but hey.. of the ones that were good, i have a nearly 99% devoloped rate(not entirely sure which ones are still hatching.. but they rate was awesome!)
