[Cuban Longtails]

Does his tail lay horizontal or does it have a vertical lift like regular chickens? Is it lobster like? (see my avatar, he's a cubalaya - they have pea combs) Yours could be a sumatra cross, maybe. Wish you could get a picture!

Does he look anything like this one:

If so its a Sumatra.
The chicks colour would certainly match the Sumatra as well, they have lots of white on their faces.

They also start out yellow as chicks, which I did not know until recently, and gradually feather out black.

Sumatra is the only E (extended black) peacombed bird that I know of. That is a pea comb, not a rose comb. And his tail will continue to grow for a much longer time than the others. Longtails get better feathering their second year.
But the rooster is definitely a Sumatra.
