I have golden laced Wyandottes three are crowing like roosters at sun rise. What age do the spurs develope ? I will try and post pics. Well i can not post pics yet. No spurs at about 12 weeks. keeping fingers crossed that they are hens. Bought from store that sexed them prior to my purchase. We want hens only. you can see pic @ https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=104110 or click on My BYC page.

If they're crowing then they are like 99.9% boys.

My rooster didn't really get spurs until he was about 7 months or so. But the age may vary with individuals.

Get about 9 more posts and then you can put up pictures!

I had a boy crow at 8 weeks. The males combs will be wider and their wattles get big. Males also redden up earlier and have thicker legs. Wyandottes are a slow maturing breed so it will take a while for the spurs to come in.

Thank you for your replies. I am still holding out that they are confused girls or that they are practicing for the egg song. Fingers crossed. Roosters anybody!!!!!????

In the third picture the two birds closest to the camera are both 100% roosters. The bird behind them is a pullet.
