I walked outside into the coop to check for eggs. My Wyandotte Bantam wasn't in the there and she didn't have an egg in there. I walked around the yard to see if I could find her and she was in the pig pen. She had made a little nest in there. I sat and watched for a few minutes to see what she was doing. She kept moving in circles and kicking. When she would finally lay down for a few seconds, she'd pick at the hay and throw it on her back or try to shove it under her. She'd ruffle her feathers too. Does that mean that she's about to go broody or was she just trying to lay an egg there? Thanks!
Also, when a chicken lays an egg, IF they go broody, does it happen when she lays the egg or does she wait until she has a few laid already?
