A friend of mine just did a Mega Hatch for me. I have several Columbian Wyandotte eggs in there. Previously I have only hatched a couple of these, one is for sure a pullet and I seriously think the other one growing is. That being said I got to looking at my chicks after I brought them home and I think I have a male and can distinguish it as a male at this age (1 week)

Here are pics of a light one (the color like I previously hatched and both are pullets) and the dark one (male?)

The only other eggs that were in the hatch were BBS Orps, Houdans, Partridge Cochins and Blue Rocks

I have no SLW

I think the dark one is a Columbian Rooster. I can't locate pics of CW chicks other than it showing the lighter ones. I know exactly what eggs went in the incubator, and the ONLY choices are Coumbian Wyandotte, BBS Orpington, Mottled Houdan , Partridge Cochin and Blue Rock.
I know it is hard to see the comb in the pics but both of these chicks has the classic Wyandotte comb.

I know generally color has nothing to do with gender! I am just starting to hatch from my Columbian Wyandotte pair. So far all the chicks have looked like the light one, both of the older feathered out chicks from a couple of months ago were light and they are both 99% for sure Pullets. I am trying to determine if anyone has any experience with Wyandottes or at least the columbian gene to help me figure out if this darker chick could be a male. I can't find pics on the net, other than the lighter ones. These are the only Wyandottes I have so it can't be another color.
