So we got our first egg today!!! We have 3 GLW that are 22 weeks old and 4 Cuckoos that are 20 weeks old. Which breed do you think?

My cuckoo maran lays a light egg like that because she’s hatchery quality.

I would watch their behaviors and feel in between the two bones under the cloaca. If 2 or 3 fingers easily fits in their that means they allayed (it can happen when they are just about to lay too)

I'd bet it's the Marans. SLW lay pretty light colored eggs.
It's less believable that a light egg layer laid that than a breed known for deep, dark brown eggs?

Hatchery quality is something else completely. I wouldn't count a bird that laid cream eggs a Marans.
