Wyandotte questions

I am on my first batch of chickens so excuse me if this seems like a silly line of questions. I decided to go with Wyandottess, EE, and Silkies for my first batch of chickens. I ordered 1/2 silver laced and 1/2 golden laced. The golden laced pattern looks picture perfect and I think they are very good examples of the breed. However the silver laced look very dirty and only one or two have what I would call a clean pattern. My question is, if I cross the silvers and golds will they clean up nicely or am I wasting my time?

Silver-laced chickens start out almost black and slowly get more and more white. If your chickens are still young than give them some time and they should clean-up on their own.

I'm not sure what would happen if you crossed the two. That would be interesting.

Good luck with them!

If breeding is important to you, I agree with NanaKat.
However, I let all my breeds mingle together and mix together because I don't plan to sell them.

Its really your choice.
