I've read threads, consulted my Chicken Health book and consulted and Dr. Google. and I can't pin down Lacey the Silver Laced Wyandotte's abdominal issues. She's eating and drinking.
I free feed Tucker Milling's non-GMO 16.5% protein feed, maybe a 1/4 cup mealworms scattered to nine 10 month old chickens daily. Fresh water daily.
Lacey's been off to her own this week, today's Thursday. She lays around but it's also hot. I inspected her feet yesterday and noticed her belly is like a squishy water balloon. Not taut, but I'd say the size of a lemon. I dont feel a hard anything when I palpate her abdomen. I found her laying with her belly to the side today. She hates being held. I try to keep fancy chickens vent area clipped and cleaned on Fridays.
This week, I have only collected 6 -7 eggs daily from nine who have been laying 8 - 9 daily. I noticed one egg all along has a thinner shell than the others. I have calcium via flaked oyster shells always available.
I can't figure out what I am dealing with, any help is appreciated.

1st pic is her laying on her side with belly out to side to get comfortable

In the photo she looks like she's lounging. If it's hot, that's not unusual.
In another photos, she's upright, bright eyed and her stance looks fine to me. A hen that is not feeling well wouldn't have such a stance, ime.

A hen's abdomen should feel a bit soft, squishy and pliable. If it's not bloated and fluid filled, tight like a drum, then I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Hi @Wyorp Rock ! You're exactly right. Nothing wrong with Lacey. She's just a 10mo old bird who's ramping up to be a layer. I brought she and Dot the bumblefoot to the vet. I learned a lot, so was worth the price to do so. Thanks for your help!

Glad you were able to get her checked out and she's doing well!
