I'm having an issue with my Golden Laced Wyandotte girl. She just started laying a few weeks ago. From day 1 she decided to shun the nest boxes and lay on the floor of the coop. I don't really want her doing this since I use the deep litter method.
She got the other 2 girls laying on the floor too, even though they had previously used the nest boxes exclusively. I bought a ceramic egg (extremely realistic, my husband actually collected it once with the real eggs). I left that in the nest boxes for almost a week. The other girls started using the boxes again right away, but the Wyandotte still lays in one spot on the floor of the coop.
Any ideas?
