Just checked on the chicks (they're in the garage now) they're 11 days old and are getting short feathers on their backs, one has a few more than the other but they both have atleast a couple... does that help at all??

I should have added, I got them from a breeder, they are indeed silver laced wyandottes just not sure what the genders are.

Looks like you got 2 Silver Laced Wyandottes

any guesses on genders? does it matter if they are getting their "shoulder" feathers in at 11 days old? The one that is mostly black is getting little bits of yellow on his sides.

Hard to say, girls sometimes feather out quicker. By 3 weeks you should be able to tell-I'm going with girls for now.

when I did the old wives tail gender tests i got 2 pullets for the results on both tests ( holding upside down, and back of the neck skin)... Either way I will be happy, I'm just impatient! haha

Here are updated pictures of the same chicks at 3 weeks (today)

chick 1( thinking pullet)

chick 2 (thinking roo because of personality, tail is more erect, and over all body stance)

sorry about the quality I took them on my way indoors on my phone..
