Well, today I emailed Blue Hills Poultry Stud, asking for how much 2-3 Houdan chicks (or) pullets would be. Im very excited! I've loved the breed since I layed my eyes on them, and they're so rare too. Im crossing my fingers it wont be too expensive (over $40 AUS for 1)....So cross your fingers for me!

I just saw a batch of those at the feed store! They were Mottled Houdans. Cutest litted spotted chicks I've ever seen! Wish I could pop some in the mail for you!
Good Luck!

Well...let's see; you were expecting to pay $40.00 so @$120.00/3 you are $80.00 over your expectation. That's out to dinner for 2 people at a nice restaurant twice? 10 hours driving time...is it a nice country drive??

That's an outrageous price in the US (don't know the currency exchange tho). But if that's the going price in your country and it's worth it to you?

Another way to look at it is it's really a pretty cheap price to pay for a hobby. Think what people pay for a camera (and they die too

(and they don't reproduce

).

Sure wish I could mail you the little chick from my local feed store, they were only $3.50.

Good luck with your decision!

Thanks, but we've found a breeder much closer so we'll email him soon.
And I wish I lived in the states, much more breeds, and WAY cheeper!
