Hi Everyone!! Thanks for coming to take a look
We just finished our chicken tractor this last week and I wanted to show everyone. (I say "we" but my boyfriend did most of the work, I'm a lucky gal) We live in a suburban neighborhood and are lucky enough to have a big backyard.
The coop is 8 ft long x 3 feet wide. The base of the nesting box area is 27" x 24.5". We did spend more than we wanted to, but from reading about other's coops it seems like that's pretty common! lol. The cost was between $250-$300, I don't have all the reciepts in front of me..
I like that when they're out in the grass they can go underneath their nesting box to get out of the sun. We have 3 pullets in here. A Rhode Island Red, a Silver Laced Wyandotte and a Salmon Faverolle. Eventually we'll probably put wheels on the back so one person can move it. But so far, I love this design!
Oh, and we still need to put the hanging feeders up..
