I received my silkie eggs today. None were cracked!

I am hoping my EE's will be here tomorrow. I have read on here to leave the eggs for anywhere from 6-48 hours before putting in the bator. I am a virgin at this so I am nervous.

My bator has been steadily at 99.9 and 42% humidity. Is this okay? I have an LG still air. Also, I don't have a candler but have read you can just use a flashlight. What can I use to make one? The eggs are tan in color. I really am not sure what to look for, but I guess I will learn as I go.

If I have to wait on my EE's to get here and let them sit, then will the Silkies have sat too long? I am so anxious it's crazy! Feel like a little kid.

Do I put them in the center of the turner or around the edges? I will have about 30 eggs total and it holds 42.

Thanks! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Can't wait to get them started and praying I get them all to hatch or some anyway.

A still air should be at about 101 for temp

ETA: Actually 101 to 102...

Thanks Jen! So, just hold them in my hand and look or put them in something to make it darker?

I will turn up the bator and get it to that temp.

Thanks again!

Kari

I just go into a dark room.

ETA: Hope all goes well! I just hatched 6 silkie chicks this past weekend and have bantam cochins and standard light brahmas going into the incubator today!
