Yeah Crows!!!!

I was out in the yard this evening, the sun was setting, and the neighborhood flock of crows started going nuts. (It was about 30, or so, crows) I looked up to see what was going on, and see them chasing something HUGE! It was absolutely beautiful (If not just a wee bit miserable) bald eagle right smack dab in the middle of the city. I love living in Washington....and I love my local flock of crows even more!

I was sitting out with my chickies today (they are just shy of 5 weeks) and they are outside permanently now. The coop and run that I have them in doesn't have a top (was supposed to be here last Friday) so I'm always worried about stray birds gobbling my babies up. We're in the country but so far the only birds I've seen get close were smaller than my chicks and barely stayed long enough to sing to us. Today just as I was about to leave the coop, I heard the same thing you must have, crazy crows hollering up a storm! I looked up and saw about 5 crows chasing something off, whatever it was, it was BIG. God bless those crazy crows we both seem to have, now chicken-little-dinner today!
